Architectural photography
Photographers. Ever think about shooting architecture? The traveling, the "oh my god if only I were a millionaire" mindset. Could be fun. But in all seriousness, there is money in it.

"The american people have spoken and spoken clearly".
Wow, history. A very long road to this point. Good god! Now everyone can breath.
Get the morning paper...and keep it. Let's now sit back and see what's to come.
"At this defining moment, change has come to America".

John Mayer of all people
I found this quote rather humorous and insightful. I'm not a big fan but he's a great lyricist.
“Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type.. I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!"
- J. Mayer
I may be a 24 color box of crayons. Not quite yet a 64

A sorry form of communication but sadly, the only.
a person of little words
it's funny how i was once that person
i had a terrible problem of opening up in the past
now, I attempt to extend my words to sentences, even paragraphs at times
meaningful sentences with lots and lots of feelings attached
it's very new to me but it feels good
sort of liberating in a way
but then you come to find that nobody is listening
or maybe one of those "in one ear, out the other" deals
or it at least it feels that way
you come to a sudden realization that you're only wasting your time
you slowly shorten your sentences back to simple words
its built up and up and up only to come crashing down hard in the end
now you can't help but save those words for some lucky person later on down the road
someone who will appreciate it and take it in for every little meaning you put behind it
better yet, they express it back to you ten times more
that would be nice
i'm not out to change anyone, nor am I trying to get any attention
it's come to the point where I feel I may only be heard through a stupid blog
it's ridiculous
because everyone takes blogs more seriously these days
sadly, even more than the words that come out of the actual mouth...
which is soooo primitive right?
wrong.

Meet real people near you
So I can't help but think how stupid this ad is. It's currently all over myspace. When I first looked at it, it looked as if the young feller was about to rape the broad. Taking a closer look you notice they're only dancing. A better image might supersede perhaps.

Madmen Season 2
I'm starting it a tad bit late (Started in July) due to the busy move and not having cable, but thanks to sidereel I can catch up. So far so good. I'm already liking it compared to the first season which wasn't bad either.

Bill speaks
A shot from the Rally for Obama at the Student commons at VCU last Sunday. Bill Clinton spoke. He seems okay from 50 yards away. It was short, it was crowded, it was loud, pretty much what I expected.

A decent proposal
God I love internet contestations! Its such a folksy way to go at it with people and not feel bad about it afterwards. And then see them the next day in person and act like nothing is happening. It's like two different realms! God bless the internet...and Taco Bell.

A manufacturing process that would make Henry Ford proud
If you're planning on purchasing a Macbook or Macbook pro anytime soon, just hold out until next Tuesday. You may be lucky to find that the new line of Macbook and Macbook pros will be in production. Word has it that the impending release of the new line of Macs will be out Oct.14th. Whats the difference between the new line and the preceding generations? An important feature...it's going to be cheaper, much cheaper and very durable. Another cool feature, a glass touch pad. Again, this may not prove true just yet. Due to the manufacturing process with materials made from a block of high-quality, aircraft grade aluminum (known as the "brick"), this will set a new standard in the whole process when fabricating computers for Apple. This is only the beginning. If sources remain true, this is a big thing for Apple and I can see them taking this many places. Watch out for em!

This is meant to confuse you
Everything is so fucking surreal right now. I find humor in it though. Anyways. the last two days have been pretty good. Could've done without the gloomy weather but good company outweighs that any day and in this case any rainy day. Can't wait for this evening.

View # 1 from my room window.
View #2 from my room window. That's the radio tower that we tell people to look for when giving directions. It's the tallest structure in the museum/upper fan district! can't miss it!
View #3 from my room window. That's the channel 6 news station. And Jacobs car.
A 1.5 mile bike ride to campus just to find out you left your u-lock at home. Refer to the sticky note.

A little "French touch".
Just some music videos from some significant french house bands that played a major role in the whole "french touch" movement. All in which are always perfect to mesh into your mix. I'm talking the shit that you can't keep your feet still to. You have to dance. These are some of my favorites with their catchy-as-hell beats and bass riffs. Brilliant. Enjoy!
Stardust- "Music sounds better with you"
Modjo- "Lady (hear me tonight)"
Daft Punk- "around the world"
Cassius- "1999"
Superfunk-"lucky star"

She likes European commercials... so do I.
Check out The notwist. You'll be happy you did. They're German. They're electronic. They're instrumental. They've been around for a while. They're total bliss. Damn Germans.
oh, for any of you folks who can read webdings french...
::.:...:::.::::..::.:...::UPDATE.::.::::::....::9.18.08.::.:::..::.....:...:
Apparently the above is not in wingdings! To me it is! Oh well. Im changing it to french then.
....::::.::.::.:::::..:.:::.Another update..:...:::::..:::..:::..::::...::..:
So i just translated the above back to english on an online translator and it's not exactly what I wrote. It's actually pretty funny what it says compared to what I wrote...
Do you know this feeling? When you speak with somebody during one moment and it can continue during days when it seems and you will never obtain tedious. Somebody with whom you can feel completely comfortable and speak about anything society man or intellectual. Shouldn't somebody you prove themselves too? Somebody whom should have known to you a long time ago. He is strange how the things establish when he comes to the feelings. Do you know this feeling?

markfenske.com
This semester I'm taking a prerequisite class (for the advertising sequence) called "curiousness". Fortunately for me, well kind of, the actual creator of the class happens to be my instructor. His name is Mark Fenske. When I first saw this guy, I thought it was a joke that he actually worked in the ad business due to his appearance and his Jim Belushi-like stature. And yes, he looks just like Belushi. But I was quick to learn that appearance really doesn't matter over quality of work, whether past or present. I'm about four weeks into school and the fourth week taking his class (every Tuesday) and almost half of the class has been called out, whether be it humiliated or asked to stand in front of the 150 students and get bombarded with personal questions. I'm still waiting on my turn. He says it's good for you...and I believe him. Today in class he gave out his website, or more-so a blog, markfenske.com to the class in which I just got finished looking at. I was pleasantly surprised. It's really nice to find out that one of your instructors has been in the business for years. There's nothing better to learn from then that. I delved into his writings about advertising on his blog and was impressed that so much insight, and witty writing i'm gonna add, came out of this guy. Apparently he's a big deal in the ad world. Shit, just google the name Mark Fenske and you'll know what i'm talking about. Yes, again, he's the Jim Belushi looking guy. To conclude this ego ebullition on Fenske, I just want to state out that for the first time, in a long time, I can easily say I am truly inspired...and by a teacher of all things.

Trapper Keeper!
I attended a show last night at some one story house/business building out on North Adams street. We got there and there were already cops giving the tenants a warning for being too loud, which is funny because the show hadn't even started yet. So I'm thinking this'll be quick, good thing it's free. So we walk in to the house and immediately get pounded in the face with one hundred degree body heat and the faint scent of body odor...something that was expected of. I look over to the left front corner of the house where the band is playing and on a small fold-up table there are some odd looking gameboy, video game fabrications used as instruments. I've heard of things like these before, a more informal, not-as-glamorous crystal castles setup maybe?? So a guy with a lime green tie and a pink bandanna starts screaming something that I cannot make out. I did get that the one man band was called Radioshock (from Brooklyn). The sound made me feel as if I were in an old Atari video game. It wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't bad. It was mediocre, something not to take too seriously. I had fun though, especially yelling "trapper keeper" with Keith during the song "trapper keeper". Mosh pits started to happen, which are dumb may I add, and Radioshock finished his last song. Sweat city. Unfortunately the show ended quickly afterwards due to the cops coming for the second time. Monday night shows=not a very good idea. We all walked to the park afterwards where we talked about guns and watched Keith and Rachel lick peoples eyeballs... Weirdest thing ever!
:::...:::...:..::::..::.::.::::...:.:..:
Things to look forward too this month...
- Whiskey and bluegrass music someplace next to the Science Museum.
- Some Art showing Friday
- Henrock dance party Friday after showing
- Cutcopy and the Presets at the 9:30
- Camping somewhere on the James

Flight of the conchords
So I just finished the first season of Flight of the Conchords. I was surprised on how funny it was. I still find myself watching some episodes that stood out to me. One of them was the episode "Girlfriends". I love the old cinematic filter that turns on when the songs starts up. The colors and mood are very happy and alive. And the song, sooo funny! Bret and Jemaine are a perfect comedic duo. I guess it's the bland, naive humor the characters give off that gets me but I laugh at almost anything so I don't know. I guess you'll just have to watch the season and find out for yourself.
Hilarious!

Thank you for saying that.
"Strange. But even when you know it has to end, when it finally does, you always get that inevitable twinge: Have i done the right thing?"
I haven't cried in a long time. Its so foreign to me. It's refreshing. To let it all out. Drop everything to the floor and let everything in you pour onto your jeans and t-shirt. I don't know if it's that moving away deprivation of family and friends feeling that normal people get when they leave everything behind in search of who knows, but it's finally starting to kick in. That morose feeling. Maybe it's the decisions I've made and the end result that was rather un-expected. Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions and things will eventually turn up on a good note. They usually do. Decisions, whether good or bad, will always be made may I add. I guess I'm just thinking in the "now" moment. I have no patience. I want all that's good, right this moment. Who can blame me. Were all the same. Moving on then, that was my decision in the first place right? I've got to stick to that plan. Face the consequences of my actions whether they be good or bad. Dismiss any negative thoughts or feelings people may have towards me because of the decisions that I made. Quite frankly, I really don't care what people may be saying about me while sitting in a bar or over late night phone chats. Anyone who negatively criticizes me for my actions who isn't affected in any way, shape, or form can fuck off because never will you be worth my time. Tend to your own problems instead of feeding off someone else's faults. It'll work out in the long run, promise. So how will this turn out? I don't know. I find myself saying that a lot lately. It needs to change and quick. I usually don't like being so indecisive nor being around people who are, but were all hypocrites. Anyone reading this may know little bits and morsels on my situation. The curious. The bored. The sad. How to end this? I hate this part. No kicker. It's only appropriate this will have to end on a very short concluding final text with four years of weight baring down. Happiness. Sadness. cheating. lying. crying. begging. confusion. happiness. sadness. cheating. lying. love. regrets.
-It doesnt matter anymore.
Let's really move on now. It's about that time. It was you and I that brought us to this point. I just made that end result decision. But was it right? Thats the question of the year for me.
...:::.::..::::.::..::::::..::::::::UPDATE09.30.08..::..::..:::::..::
I take it back, It was a right decision.

GT - Feed the animals
Today is such a gloomy day. Fortunately, it's my first day off this week and that allows me to finally wash my clothes. I'm actually sitting at the laundry mat on Strawberry street right now, the same one I went to last week. I attempted to be adventurous and drive around looking for another mat but it's the one on Strawberry street that I feel more comfortable in. It may be the trees along the road that give it a welcoming feel when driving down or the nice Strawberry street folk. Anyways, I'm listening to the new Girl Talk album "feed the animals" and I have to say, Greg Gillis yet again doesn't fail to serve his dish of smoothly fabricated music mash-ups of Kanye West to Queen and everything in between. He incorporates Ziggy Stardust vs. Daft Punk in "Hands in the air", which is a pleasant surprise and The police in "What it's all about", nice. I'm pretty upset that the GT tickets quickly sold out the 9:30 club in DC. That would've been a blast. However, Cut Copy and the Presets at the end of this month is something to be excited about! Check Girl talk out here.
